Edelsminde B&B
In a former royal residence at Gisselfeld Kloster, today is the beautiful and cozy Edelsminde Bed & Breakfast. The farm is named after the then-chief Count Christian Conrad Sophus Danneskiold-Samsøe mother-in-law, Admiral Edele Sophie Kaas (born 1746). The house’s composite architecture is characterized by having been an inspector’s residence with large rooms and high ceilings at the western end, and a courtyard with room for men, girls, kitchens and people’s rooms in the east.
Edelsminde B&B is today rented by Lotte and Peter, who have created a small oasis – a carefully decorated house, with an emphasis on aesthetics and homely cosiness. It is always possible to make a cup of coffee, take a biscuit and find a corner to settle in. The place has many beautiful hooks both inside the house and in the large park-like garden that borders on Gisselfeld’s convent park.
The beds are of a very high quality. The bed linen is in clean linen and dried on the drying line in the garden. Delicious homemade breakfasts are served, with freshly baked muffins, eggs from the hens in the garden, muesli and marmalades.

Just 200 meters from Gisselfeld Kloster is the “Gardener’s Annex”, which is a cozy accommodation for up to 4 people in rooms with double beds. Furthermore, a small residence niche designed as the ‘Gardener’s Library’. The suite is located by the former gardener residence and there is easy access to the castle park via stairs.

The Woodland Lodge Gisselfeld
In the deep quiet of the forest, you’ll find one of Destination Gisselfeld’s gems. The Woodland Lodge Gisselfeld is the former forest ranger residence for Gisselfeld Monastery. Now, the house provides the setting for your vacation, celebration, event, meeting, or workshop.
The Woodland Lodge is managed by Anette Maria Syska and is open year-round. You can book rooms for your getaway, romantic trip, or Out of Office days. Additionally, you can reserve the entire house or parts of it for family trips, parties, meetings, events, or workshops.
We appreciate intricacies and details, which aligns with the architectural style of the house by Martin Nyrop. Nyrop celebrated the Art Nouveau style with all its whimsical, aesthetic, and gentle details. The house still reflects these characteristics, and we complement Nyrop’s architectural genius with furniture from the time of the house’s inception.
We offer eight spacious rooms and various meeting facilities both indoors and outdoors. Throughout the year, we host different events that invite you to indulge in gastronomy, creative workshops, Hiking Weekends, Cocktail Camps, yoga, ice bathing, and whatever else we come up with.
Outdoors, we’ve created cozy corners for you to read a book, have lunch, gaze at the stars, spend time with family, or simply take a break to reflect.
Just outside the door lies Gisselfeld’s beautiful Hesede Forest with ancient oak trees and numerous hiking trails. The Camp Adventure Forest Tower is only two kilometers away. By the way, there are many other delightful experiences in Destination Gisselfeld.

Det Gamle Apothek
Close to Haslev town is Det Gamle Apotek – sleep-in. In 1857, Bregentved Estate and Gisselfeld Kloster decided that together they would make a pharmacy and the location should be right on the border between the two estate’s lands. It ended up staying at Ny Ulsevej, which was very inconvenient and far from both estates. The pharmacy therefore already moved in 1894.
The place is owned by Tine and Jens, who also run the accommodation Kærskovgaard in Faxe. The old pharmacy is newly opened in 2018. The old pharmacy has a beautiful location, with the most beautiful view of Sø Torup Lake and Gisselfeld’s grounds and has 27 rooms.
